Welcome to my accessibility journey!

Looking for a nice breakfast/ brunch in Smiths Falls? Look no further! This morning my mother and I went out for brunch at Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House. When we pulled up there was an accessible parking spot in the mini mall where the curb went down for wheelchair access. When we got to the actual entrance, there was an actuator for the door in the best possible place it could be. Yes, it would have been nice for the sidewalk to be a little wider for better access, but this was out of the restaurant’s control and they did the best they could. When we entered the building, we were welcomed and brought to our seats where the staff removed a chair to accommodate my wheelchair without being asked. It was nice not to have to request it. The service was exceptional, extremely friendly. The food was delicious. There was a very large menu catering to many different diets. My mom is a vegetarian and there were several options for her to choose from. I quite enjoyed my pancakes and sausage, they were delicious. Just in case you had to go, in the washroom there was a separate accessible stall. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back.

I’ve been several times now and enjoyed each visit. Both the service and food have been consistently great and yes the accessibility was noticeably good as well.

I’m Sarah!

Welcome to Rolling with Sarah! I am a 26-year-old wheelchair user from Merrickville, Ontario. Throughout my life, I have encountered both amazing accessibility and impossible to believe barriers On this site, I will document my journey as a person with a disability. My highs, my lows, and everything in between. I will recognize accessibility efforts by others, as well as what I am doing to improve accessibility myself. Roll along with me!
