I recently completed my college program in Medical Office Assistant at Centennial College. I feel very proud. I will graduate with honours. As a special surprise, my sister and her boyfriend took me to the Brad Paisley concert. It was so much fun! He didn’t do my favourite Christmas song (James Penguin) but it was a really good concert. I was so grateful. I had a blast. My Mom also gave me a grad cap with a sock attached as Dobby is now a free elf! There will be a graduation at the Centennial campus in June. I will roll across that stage. This is a big deal for me as I never thought I would get to this point. Just goes to show you that you can do anything that you put your mind to. It feels kinda weird to be done, as I have been working towards this for almost 3 years. I can now relax and enjoy the holidays. A special shoutout to my family who dealt with all my frustrations and edited countless posts and essays. It was nice that Centennial offered a completely online program, considering campus isn’t 100% accessible and it was easier to work from home. Now time to look for a job. Not as easy as it seems. ODSP only allows you to make so much a month and my stamina can’t do a full workload. It’s a balancing act. A special thanks to my palliative care doctor who helped me secure the accommodations I needed to succeed. I’m very excited to enter this new chapter of my life. I’ve always wanted to help people and now I have my chance to be the first friendly face they see at the doctor’s office. That can make a huge difference on how the appointment goes. Wish me luck as it still hasn’t sunk in that I am done.
