Welcome to my accessibility journey!

Recently went to eat out in Perth at Michael’s Table. They had done some renovations, so I was eager to see  the quality of the accessibility of the restaurant. To  be honest, I was quite impressed. They had actuators on the doors to enter. They also had actuators on the doors to the washrooms, where once inside there was a wide stall for wheelchairs. The restaurant itself had plenty of room for me to roll to my table and the staff kindly had removed the chair before I got there.  Parking was a challenge, however. There was no accessible parking spot available at the restaurant. All in all, I had a very positive experience.

I’m Sarah!

Welcome to Rolling with Sarah! I am a 26-year-old wheelchair user from Merrickville, Ontario. Throughout my life, I have encountered both amazing accessibility and impossible to believe barriers On this site, I will document my journey as a person with a disability. My highs, my lows, and everything in between. I will recognize accessibility efforts by others, as well as what I am doing to improve accessibility myself. Roll along with me!
